Goolwa Welcomes Cittaslow Delegation

CITTASLOW - Goolwa is Accredited as the first Australian Cittaslow


From Sunday 11 March 2007 to Wednesday 14 March, a Delegation representing the International Cittaslow organisation visited the historic River Port of Goolwa, South Australia. The Delegates were the Cittaslow President Roberto Angelucci (Mayor of Francavilla al Mare), the Cittaslow Vice President Stefano Mocio (Orvieto Mayor) and Pier Giorgio Oliveti the Cittaslow Director. They were accompanied by Mrs Iva Barbabella who prepared a traditional Umbrian meal as a thank you to the Mayor of Alexandrina, Kym McHugh.

Family Meal for Delegation

Enjoying a traditional Australian barbecue at one of the Goolwa homes. They tasted mulloway, chicken, sausages and kangaroo accompanied by lots of homemade salads and sweets.

It is official. Goolwa can now fly the Cittaslow flag.
