Goolwa Alive

On the Sunday of the Labour Day Long Weekend in South Australia, usually the first in October each year, the Community of Goolwa welcomes the new spring season with GOOLWA ALIVE, a community street market. This event was awarded the 2012 Australia Day Community Event of the Year by the Alexandrina Council. The Fleurieu Food Perfect Peninsula Picnic is a feature of this community event. The main street of Goolwa is closed to vehicular traffic for the day and is claimed by community groups, entertainers and thousands of locals and visitors. Activities are also held in Signal Point and the Goolwa Wharf area. Leave the car and come and explore the town of Goolwa. Sample local produce and see what the local traders have to offer. The paddlesteamer Oscar W celebrates its birthday that weekend too.

The next Goolwa Alive celebration will be held on Sunday 30 September 2012.
