Goolwa Ambassador Training

Goolwa's first Cittaslow Ambassadors

Thanks to funding from the South Australian Office of Volunteers and support from Alexandrina Council, more than 30 Goolwa Ambassadors qualified in September 2012. The program was run by Cittaslow Goolwa as part of preparation for the National Regional Arts Australia Conference
Kumuwuki – Big Wave which was held in Goolwa 18-21 October 2012.

The Ambassador Training Program provided information covering Goolwa’s Cittaslow status, Goolwa’s history and heritage, the Ngarrindjeri culture plus details concerning the Conference.  The participants who completed the full program, were awarded certificates and an orange shirt and scarf that easily identified the "living sign posts" - Goolwa's volunteers who helped guide visitors around the town during the Conference.
