Tour Down Under in Goolwa
Adelaide South Australia hosts the Tour Down Under international cycling race in January every year. Goolwa has hosted two finishes and a start for one of the stages and had sprint lines in all other years. In 2010, Goolwa hosted another finish. As part of the Tour Down Under, towns are invited to participate in the Best Dressed Towns competition. Goolwa has been a regular contributor and won awards for their efforts. In 2010 we won Best Dressed Town for Stage 4 and the SILVER AWARD for the Best Dressed Town overall.
Cittaslow Goolwa, together with Goolwa Skill have developed a bicycle sculpture which has grown each year.
