Core Program Blue.JPGCittaslow Community Garden

The Cittaslow Community Garden was established for the growing and sharing of fresh, chemical free produce.

Volunteers meet each Tuesday morning to work the garden beds and do any maintenance required. Produce from the community beds goes weekly to the Goolwa Child Centre. Some produce is put into the various Grow Free carts around Goolwa and any surplus is sold through the Goolwa Market Cittaslow stall.

The Garden also leases a number of beds to Cittaslow members.

Visitors to the Garden are welcome on Tuesday mornings between 9am and 12 noon. Someone will be there to show you around. The Garden is situated at the corner of Kessell and Skewes Roads (next to the Alexandrina Council Depot).

Following is the first video 'Growing Goodness', which tells the story of Volunteer Community Gardeners at the Cittaslow Goolwa Community Garden growing food to share with their local Children’s Centre. Meet some of our volunteers in our second video and hear why this place is so special and what keeps them coming back every week, year on year.

“ … towns where people are curious about times past, towns rich in theatre, cafes, workshops, restaurants and spiritual places, towns with untouched landscapes and fascinating craftsmen, where people are still aware of the slow passing of the seasons, marked by genuine products, respecting tastes, health and spontaneous customs.”
